Having spent eight months living in Nepal in 2004, Thomas Wells found it
to be one of the most amazing places he had ever visited. He was moved not
only by the desperate poverty that exists there, but also the depth of
kindness and generosity of the Nepali people.
However, Nepal remains one of the poorest countries in Asia with 31% of
the population or 7.75 million people still living below the poverty line.
Out of 177 countries globally, Nepal ranks 136 in the UNDP Human
Development Index.
Despite these economic difficulties, there is a true hunger within
Nepalese children to learn, they simply need someone to give them the
opportunity to do so. By providing Nepalese children with a good
education, FFN hopes to give Nepal a future it deserves.
