Dear Friends of FFN
I would like to begin by wishing you a happy Nepali New Year and thanking you for your continued support of FFN!!
Your generosity has allowed us to perform a multitude of activities over the last three months. Since Christmas, 2 more girls have joined Alphas as day students. This, combined with the 4 new girls joining the hostel in the summer, brings the total number of children FFN supports to 25; a truly remarkable number considering this is only our second year of operation.
The preparations for the 36 students to Nepal from Oxford and Durham University are also far underway. The students so far have already raised over £10,000 for FFN. I would like to congratulate them on this achievement and wish them luck with their future fundraising. These trips are instrumental to the future of the charity and we, at FFN, are determined to ensure that these trips will be an equal success to that of last year’s. We are truly grateful for the support given to us by both Durham and Oxford University Rag organisations; none of this would have been possible without your help. I would also like to take this opportunity to announce that Durham has agreed to run an Everest Expedition in collaboration with FFN next year as well, making it three years in row, thank you!
FFN also plans to expand its one-off project programme. This year Future For Nepal will be spending nearly £6000 on these projects. They vary from programmes aimed at helping rehabilitate street children dependent upon drugs to girl trafficking awareness campaigns to supporting art classes for Tibetan refugees.
