Future For Nepal (FFN) was set up in January 2004 by Thomas Wells as an organisation dedicated to giving children in Nepal a better start in life.

The charity's aim is to provide children not only with a good education, but also a safe environment where all the needs of a child are provided for.

With 29% of Nepalese children having no access to primary education, Future For Nepal attempts to overcome this social injustice through its sponsorship programme.

FFN sponsors 31 children on a day and boarding basis to study at Alpha, a private English-medium school in Kathmandu, and 1 child at college.

In an attempt to touch the lives of as many children as possible, in addition to its sponsorship programme, Future For Nepal also funds a series of community projects.

These projects range from HIV awareness campaigns to street children programmes to building classrooms in remote villages in Nepal.

Together with student rag organisations, Future For Nepal runs 6 week long fundraising expeditions to Nepal.

These student groups not only face the physical test of a 12 night trek to Annapurna Base Camp, but also the mental challenge of living and working within a Nepali community for 14 nights.
